Karns City won the District 8-9 3-A championship with a 54-36 victory over Perry last night at Clarion University. Kaiden Powers scored four touchdowns to lead the Gremlins. It was the fifth consecutive year Karns City won district title. They move into the PIAA tournament next week against either Sharon or Hickory who are playing for the District-10 title this weekend.
High School Football tonight:
–Seneca Valley and North Allegheny meet at North Hills High school in the 6-a semi-finals.
–Pine-Richland and Central Catholic play at North Allegheny high school.
–In 2-A: Cardinal Wuerl North Catholic will face Neshannock at Butler high school.
All of the games begin at 7:30pm.
In Boys Soccer:
–Seneca Valley (19-1-1) will meet WPIAL champion North Allegheny (16-2-5) at Mars high school Saturday at 3pm in the 4-A quarterfinals.
–Mars (17-4-1) will meet Lower Dauphin at Hollidaysburg high school Saturday at 4pm in the 3-A quarterfinals.
–District-9 champion Karns City (20-0) will face WPIAL champion Quaker Valley (18-4-1) at Neshannock high school Saturday at 2pm.
–In Single-A: Cardinal Wuerl North Catholic (19-3-1) will play Seton-LaSalle (21-2) at North Allegheny high school at 4pm.
–The Freeport Girls Soccer team (16-4-1) will face Hickory Saturday at 4pm at Neshannock high school.
Girls Volleyball quarterfinals:
–Seneca Valley will face State College at Dubois high school Saturday at 2:30pm in 4-A.
–Knoch will meet West Allegheny in 3-A at Peters Township high school at 1pm.
