A public hearing for the transfer of a liquor license will be held in Butler Township next month.
After receiving a request for the hearing from Giant Eagle, the Butler Township commissioners chose Dec. 5 at 7 p.m. as the date and time for the hearing at the Butler Township Municipal Building.
Not much is known about Giant Eagle’s plans for the license however the grocer has a location in Moraine Point Plaza as well as the GetGo on North Main Street that are within Butler Township. Giant Eagle representatives are expected to attend the hearing and provide more information.
A public hearing is necessary due to the fact that the proposed license is being purchased from an owner in the City of Butler and brought into Butler Township. After the hearing, the township commissioners are expected to vote on a resolution which would be enclosed with Giant Eagle’s application for the license submitted to Harrisburg.
