Slippery Rock University will recognize November as Disability Issues Month.
Research shows nearly one in every 10 college students are wrestling with a mental or physical disability while in school, making it hard to do things many students take for granted.
Associate Professor Matthew Erickson says the goal of the awareness month is to promote a sense of awareness to all individuals so they become more knowledgeable about some of the barriers that people experience at SRU.
One of the events SRU will host throughout November will be a demonstration of an all-terrain wheelchair, which is made by Slippery Rock-based company TracFab.
