The Pittsburgh Penguins defeated the New York Islanders 4-2 last night at PPG Paints Arena. The Pens scored three third period goals from Evgeni Malkin, Sidney Crosby and Phil Kessel. Patric Hornqvist scored a game-opening power play goal for the Pens. Marc-Andre Fleury stopped 35 shots on goal.
The Pens improved to 5-2-1 overall. All of their victories are at home. They continue to lead the Metropolitan Division. The Pens visit Philadelphia Saturday at 7pm. Pre-game on WISR 680am is 6:30pm.
