The Pittsburgh Penguins defeated the Florida Panthers 3-2 last night at PPG Paints Arena. Sidney Crosby returned from a concussion and scored a power play goal. Carl Hagelin and Eric Fehr scored their first goals of the season. Fehr’s third period goal was the game-winner, as the Pens came back from a 2-0 deficit. The victory puts the Pens back in first place in the Metropolitan Division. They host the New York Islanders tomorrow.
Matt Murray was the back-up to goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury. Murray has recovered from a broken hand sustained in the recent World Cup.
The Penguins honored Jaromir Jagr prior to the game, giving him a commemorative plaque made from the roof of the former Civic Arena.
