Penn State pulled off a dramatic victory over #2-ranked Ohio State 24-21 Saturday at Beaver Stadium. The Nittany Lions were nearly 21-point underdogs entering the game. With the victory, Penn State has made their first appearance into the top-25 this season, at #24. The loss dropped Ohio State to #6 overall. Alabama remains #1, followed by Michigan, Clemson, Washington and Louisville.
The nation’s longest home winning streak came to an end Saturday when Edinbroo defeated Slippery Rock 37-35 at Mihalik-Thompson Stadium. Edinboro scored on the game’s final play after a penalty was called on a ball thrown out of bounds as time expired. The loss overshadowed a storybook comeback, as Slippery Rock came back from a 31-13 deficit after losing two quarterback’s to cheap shot injuries in the second and third quarters. August Nicastro, a true freshman who had not taken a snap this season and was expecting to redshirt this season led the comeback. Slippery Rock took the lead 35-31 with less than a minute remaining. The Rock will visit Clarion this Saturday.
