Bundle Up Butler is coming up at the end of the week and the organization leading the effort is looking for donated coats and volunteers.
Jean Bowen, from the Center for Community Resources, says if people have new or gently used coats to donate, the outerwear can be dropped off at the Center for Community Resources on South Main Street in downtown Butler.
Volunteers are also needed for the event. They will be like personal shoppers for individuals who attend. Bowen says the volunteers will need to have the required state clearances, which they can get for no cost.
Bundle Up Butler will be held on Friday, October 21, 2016 from 10am-2pm at the Farmer’s Market on 205 South Chestnut Street. Items will be given out on a first-come, first-serve basis. Expect vendors on site as well, although the initiative is to get coats, hats, gloves and scarves to children during the colder months.
Bundle Up Butler is a collaboration with the Butler Health System, Center for Community Resources and the Butler Collaborative for Families.
