The Butler School District is moving ahead with a plan that could allow for the installation of a sports dome on the Senior High campus.
At a Monday night school board meeting, the board directed the district’s solicitor to meet with Butler Township officials, as well as the owners of the proposed bubble dome, to determine what costs might be attached to the project.
The dome would likely be installed where the practice field is currently located. Dealing with storm water is a possible concern with several board members in favor of the plan as long as it does not cost the district any money.
Under the plan by former major league baseball player and current Butler coach Matt Clement and his business partner, Butler would have the right to reserve the facility first. It would allow for a variety of uses.
The meeting with Butler Township administrators is expected to take place sometime in November.
