Traffic on Interstate 80 in Mercer County was backed up for miles Saturday morning following a fatal crash.
According to State Police, 68 year-old Jeffrey Polichena of Ravenna, Ohio was driving east on Interstate 80 in Lackawannock Twp around 10 a.m. when he traveled slightly off the left side of the road.
Polichena then over-corrected and traveled across both lanes of the highway striking a guardrail on the right side.
His car was then struck by a box truck on the driver’s side (being driven by 22 year-old Jordan Williams of Kinston, North Carolina).
The Mercer County Coroner’s Office pronounced Polichena dead at the scene.
