
Governor Shapiro is appealing the USDA’s decision to end the Local Food Purchasing Assistance Program.
Shapiro told the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture to immediately challenge the cancellation of a three-year $13 million contract.
The program supports nearly 190 farms and 14 food banks across the state by giving money to Pennsylvania farmers who provide fresh produce to local food banks.
