The Philadelphia Eagles defeated the Kansas City Chiefs 40-22 to win Super Bowl 59 last night in New Orleans. The Eagles victory kept the Chiefs from winning a record third consecutive Super Bowl. Philadelphia quarterback Jaylen Hurts was named the game’s Most Valuable Player. He threw for two touchdowns and ran for another. The Eagles defense sacked Kansas City quarterback Patrick Mahomes six times and picked off two of his passes.
Eagles running back and Penn State product Saquon Barkley rushed for 57 yards on 25 carries and broke the single-season rushing record of 2,476 yards that had been set by Terrell Davis of Denver in 1998 when the Broncos won the Super Bowl.
