Local officials are giving back to a worthy cause following the Can-Am Police-Fire games that took place last summer around Butler County.
According to The Butler County Tourism and Convention Bureau, over $95,000 in net proceeds from the games in July have been donated to Special Olympics PA.
Over 500 athletes and their families traveled from around the U.S. and Canada to complete in 33 unique sporting events at 16 different venues across Butler County.
Local restaurant The Beacon also raised over $1,000 for Special Olympics during their competitor social event which included darts, cornhole, and mustache competitions.
