A portion of Route 8 had to be shut down following a crash early Sunday morning in Butler Township.
The two-vehicle crash happened around 5:40 a.m. near the intersection of Route 8 and McCalmont Road.
Crews arrived on scene and found both vehicles had heavy damage. The drivers were able to get out of the cars on their own.
One person was injured in the crash and was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital.
The damage was significant that crews had to briefly shut down the southbound lanes.
Crews cleared the scene by 6:30 a.m.
