A statewide contract with an online mental health company has been terminated after a push from a local lawmaker.
State Representative Stephenie Scialabba announced that the Department of Human Services has ended its contract with Kooth, a London-based company.
Scialabba says there was no age or identity verification required for the platform, and some of the counselors do not provide their real names.
According to Scialabba, there were 30 districts in the state that utilized Kooth.
