Two women are facing animal neglect charges following an investigation earlier this month.
State police have charged 52-year-old Heidi Dunkle and 31-year-old Tiara Dunkle, both of Kittanning.
The animal cruelty division of the state police were called to a home in the 100 block of Queen Junction Road in Clay Township. Police say the dogs were filthy and covered in their own feces and urine.
The dogs were removed and taken to a local shelter.
Both women are facing neglect of animal charges, and failure to license the dogs.
