Local officials are reflecting on the Can-Am Police-Fire games that took place last week around Butler County.
According to The Butler County Tourism and Convention Bureau, over 500 athletes and their families traveled from around the U.S. and Canada to complete in 33 unique sporting events at 16 different venues, with net proceeds of the games going to the Special Olympics.
Local restaurant The Beacon also raised over $1,000 for Special Olympics during their competitor social event which included darts, cornhole, and mustache competitions.
The Bureau is now working to assist the UPMC Lemieux Sports Complex in Cranberry with hosting the five day United States Hockey League Fall Classic Tournament as well as the Labor Day Girl’s Fest.
