One person was seriously injured in a bicycle accident Wednesday night in the City of Butler.
The accident happened around 10 p.m. at the intersection of New Castle Road and Hansen Avenue. Dispatchers say a vehicle collided with an electric bicycle.
Details on the crash are not known, but when police arrived on scene they requested a medical helicopter. However, due to the windy conditions, the helicopter could not get in the air.
The victim was taken to UPMC Presby by ambulance. There was no word on the person’s injuries.
Police shut down a portion of New Castle Road for hours as they worked to cleared the scene.
