The deadline to pass a state budget has come and gone, but there is a belief among some lawmakers that there will be a finalized budget soon.
The constitutional deadline was this past Sunday, but negotiators say there won’t be much impact if a deal is reached soon.
Governor Josh Shapiro proposed a $48.3 billion plan earlier this year, with a major increase in education spending. That has been a sticking point between Republicans and Democrats.
Officials are optimistic a deal could be reached before July 4th.
