A man from Slippery Rock fell victim to a check stealing scam.
Police say a 66-year-old man sent a check in the mail for a prescription. At some point, that check was intercepted and changed to a much higher amount.
It was then cashed by a person in Clearwater, Florida.
Police say their investigation is ongoing.
