The Pittsburgh Pirates woes continued this weekend as they were swept by the Boston Red Sox. Yesterday’s 6-1 loss to Boston marked their sixth in a row. Manager Derek Shelton described it as a “sloppy game” that saw baserunning miscues and defensive errors.
Martin Perez pitched into the fifth inning for the Pirates, allowing four runs, striking out seven.
The Pirates are now 11-11 on the season and face the Milwaukee Brewers tonight. First pitch is at 6:40 p.m. on WISR 680/107.5.
