Local residents looking forward to a new chicken sandwich restaurant in the area won’t have to wait much longer.
Construction will soon begin on a Popeye’s Chicken restaurant at the intersection of New Castle Road and Alameda Park Road.
Now that a power line has been moved, a construction period of about 90 days is expected to begin soon with a likely opening date sometime in mid-July.
A lease of Alameda Plaza property will allow for construction of a nearly 2,400-square foot Popeye’s Chicken near the former structure that housed a couple of restaurants and a realtor.
This project was first approved by Township Commissioners over two years ago but the project was delayed when plans for the structure were revised.
