Five different municipalities will be receiving county funds to help with transportation projects.
County commissioners announced the $50,000 awards at their meeting yesterday.
- Callery Borough: Stormwater project on Center Street.
- Jackson Township: Construction of an emergency access road and sidewalk.
- Muddy Creek Twp: Rehabilitation of Yellow Creek Road.
- Penn Twp: Route 8 and Airport Road traffic light and lane improvements.
- Slippery Rock Twp.: Widening of Kiester Road.
County officials say the $50,000 awards are used by municipalities in order to allow them to access additional grant funding.
This is the fifth year the county has made the awards, which are generated from the $5 vehicle fee on registrations.
