President Joe Biden signed into law a $460 billion government spending deal that will see over $100 million come to Western Pennsylvania for various projects.
In Butler County, a little over $10 million is set aside for projects. The projects are known as earmarks, which are requested by lawmakers and in Butler’s case Congressman Mike Kelly.
The funding will go to…
- $4.5 million for repairing the Shearer Bridge.
- $1.25 million to consolidate the Butler Twp. Fire Department.
- $2 million to create a new fire station in Connoquenessing.
- $1.25 million to replace a water line on Route 19 in Cranberry Township.
- $375,000 to replace the existing fire station in Harrisville.
