With the Super Bowl this weekend, the Pennsylvania State Police and the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation are increasing efforts to keep motorists safe.
Many people will be traveling to gatherings planned around Sunday’s big game and many of those gatherings will have alcohol available.
PennDOT recommends partygoers plan a safe ride home before the event begins, do not allow intoxicated people to drive a vehicle from a party, and always wear a seatbelt to protect against the effects of other drivers who might be impaired.
Fatalities as a result of alcohol-impaired driving crashes have increased in recent years with an average of one person killed every 40 minutes nationwide due to drunk driving.
