Butler County is receiving state grant money in order to help address homelessness in local communities.
The Department of Community and Economic Development recently announced that Butler County Commissioners will receive $250,000 through the Emergency Solutions Grant Program.
The County applied for this grant on behalf of The Care Center, Catholic Charities, Center for Community Resources, and Glade Run Lutheran. Those organizations will use the money for rapid rehousing, homelessness prevention, and emergency shelter operations.
A total of 23 Pennsylvania municipalities and nonprofit organizations will receive over $6 million in federal funding through this program.
