A Slippery Rock resident could be facing animal cruelty and child endangerment charges after police found a property in awful condition.
According to State police, troopers executed a search warrant Thursday at an unspecified residence in Slippery Rock Township.
The owner was not named but “troopers observed obvious signs of neglect and starvation to all the animals on the property.” Animals found deceased and rotting include ten alpacas, a basset hound, a chicken, and a duck. 60 remaining animals including a horse, dogs, and cats were surrendered to a shelter in Erie.
Several children live at the house but were not home at the time; child youth services were contacted to make sure the children were safe.
This investigation is ongoing.
