Police say two people are dead following Tuesday evening’s fatal crash on Route 38.
This was the first of two accidents that happened in a span of hours on Oneida Valley Road.
State police say a vehicle driven by 19-year-old Hayden Ernest of Hillards was driving north and went into the oncoming lane, hitting another vehicle driven by 32-year-old Jacqueline Rock of Chicora head-on.
Both Ernest and Rock died as a result of their injuries.
There were also two passengers in Ernest’s vehicle—41-year-old Kimberly Berry of Boyers and a five-year-old boy. Both suffered serious injuries in the crash and were flown to Pittsburgh trauma centers.
A third vehicle was also involved in the crash, however the driver was not injured.
Route 38 was shut down for hours Tuesday evening as police investigated the crash.
