35 counties in Pennsylvania were selected for federal funding for EV Charging stations and Butler County was one.
PennDOT received $171.5 million from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law and $33.8 million will go to EV Charging stations across the commonwealth. Over $630,000 will go to adding a charging station at Love’s Travel Stop in Slippery Rock off I-79.
Butler County was one of 11 projects selected in western PA. Each station will have four federally compliant charging ports.
This will be the first release of funds by the federal government for the National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure funding.
