A man accused of hitting a woman and stealing her car this past weekend is now in custody.
This past Saturday night, 37-year-old Desmond Simmons from New Kensington struck a woman in the face at Old Plank Estates. After striking the woman he took off with her vehicle but was then captured by Tarentum Police Sunday evening (August 13).
The woman injuries didn’t require medical treatment.
Simmons was placed in the Butler County Prison and is facing charges including simple assault.
