Armstrong’s Healing Heroes program is looking for more veterans to participate.
Through a partnership with the Guardian Angels Medical Service Dog, the program provides disabled veterans with highly trained service dogs.
Daneen O’Donnell of Armstrong says the dogs cost $23,000 each, but fundraising has been so successful they need more vets.
“We’ve placed nine dogs. We have enough money for 15 dogs. So we need veterans who want those dogs,” O’Donnell said.
O’Donnell says if you’re a veteran or know someone who is interested, you can visit their website for more information.
