One person was flown to a Pittsburgh trauma center following a crash this morning in Butler Township.
The accident happened just before 8 a.m. near the intersection of Route 8 and Hansen Avenue, just past the Picklegate Crossing.
Dispatchers say one vehicle went into the hillside. It’s unclear what caused the accident, but the driver had to be extricated. A medical helicopter was then called to the scene and flew the individual to a Pittsburgh hospital.
The car was significantly damaged in the crash.
The accident also caused the traffic light to go out—crews are advising people to avoid the area.
