The Toronto Blue Jays swept the Pittsburgh Pirates following a 10-1 victory Sunday afternoon. The Bucs were swept in back-to-back series with the Blue Jays and Tampa Bay, and have now lost seven games in a row.
Roansy Contreras took the loss after allowing five earned runs on nine hits in five innings of work. Reliever Chase De Jong allowed five more runs in the final two innings.
Outfielder Bryan Reynolds went 0-for-5 Sunday, snapping an 11-game hitting streak. The Pirates had eight hits in the game, but left 10 on base.
They were outscored 22-3 in the weekend series with Toronto.
The Pirates open a three-game series with Colorado tonight at PNC Park. First pitch is 6:35pm. Pre-game on WISR begins at 6:10pm.
Milwaukee defeated San Francisco 6-3 to snap a six-game losing streak. The Pirates still lead the Brewers by a half-game in the National League Central.
