The Pittsburgh Penguins will not be a part of the NHL post-season for the first time since Sidney Crosby’s rookie year after the New York Islanders defeated the Montreal Canadiens 4-2 last night, officially eliminating the Pens. The Penguins had an NHL-leading run of 16 consecutive post-season appearances. They won three Stanley Cups and played in four Stanley Cup finals in that stretch.
The Penguins will complete their season tonight in Columbus. Face-off with the Blue Jackets will be 7pm. WISR pre-game is 6:30pm.
