There’s still time to submit applications to fund transportation improvement projects through the Multimodal Transportation Fund.
Municipalities, government councils, business or nonprofit organizations, economic development organizations, public transportation agencies, public airports, airport authorities, ports, and rail entities are all invited to apply for funding through Monday.
PennDOT will evaluate applications and make selections based on safety benefits, regional economic conditions, technical and financial feasibility, job creation, energy efficiency, and operational sustainability. Grant recipients will be announced next year.
Last year 56 projects in 28 counties were awarded a total of nearly $48 million in grant funding.
