The way that hunters apply for antlerless deer licenses will change after a recent bill was signed into law.
According to the PA Game Commission, Senate Bill 431 will allow hunters to purchase antlerless licenses through the HuntFishPA automated licensing service beginning with the 2023-24 licensing year.
Various hunting organizations across the state agree with Game Commission officials that this change will allow for modernization of the licensing process. Licensing issuing agents will offer in-person assistance.
Previously, hunters had to send paper checks through the mail to county treasurers who were the only entity permitted to sell the licenses. The Game Commission plans on notifying hunters about the new process available for applying for an antlerless deer license.
