Cranberry Township is taking steps to make sure the necessary tools are available to its residents in case of a medical emergency.
The township says they purchased and replaced 18 automated external defibrillators, also known as AEDs—at strategic places throughout the municipality.
The devices are in the UPMC Passavant Graham Park, the community park, Cranberry Highlands Golf Course and other locations.
Officials say the AEDs have clear directions and audible instructions to help guide a person through the process.
Eight police vehicles will also have the AEDs inside.
The township purchased the AEDs thanks in part to a donation through UPMC Passavant.
