One of the area’s oldest golf courses is receiving state funding as they aim to renovate and preserve the club.
The Foxburg Country Club will be receiving a $500,000 grant from the DCED to help the historic renovation of the course located just outside of Butler County.
The funding comes amid an effort known as the Foxburg Golf Preservation that is in the process of establishing a master plan to help map out the future of the historic course that was built in 1887.
Members of the group say the funding will help improve areas of the course that are long overdue for an upgrade.
They also add that the master plan’s final design and rendering should be done very soon.
