The home arena of the Pittsburgh Penguins will have a new name.
According to our news partners at WPXI-TV, the former CONSOL Energy Center has been renamed PPG Paints Arena.
The Penguins announced the 20 year agreement with PPG at a news conference Tuesday morning.
The facility opened in 2010 with the name CONSOL Energy Center after that company signed a 21 year naming rights deal for $105 million.
A spokesperson for CONSOL says the move is part of a corporate transformation from coal production to natural gas.
