Governor Tom Wolf has been pushing to use some federal COVID relief money by sending direct payments to citizens.
He may now have some bipartisan support. Republican State Senator Pat Browne chairs the Senate Appropriations Committee and says that it’s a “worthy idea.”
Wolf has wanted to send $2,000 payments to Pennsylvanians making less than $80,000 per year.
Browne says there’s enough room in the budget to at least have discussions about the proposal.
