For the first time in over a month, gas prices have remained even this week both locally as well as across western Pennsylvania as a whole.
According to AAA’s weekly gas price report, the average price for a gallon of regular, unleaded, self-serve gas in Butler, as of Monday, held steady at $4.71 per gallon.
The average gas price across western Pennsylvania as a whole also did not change to remain at $4.70. The most affordable average price for gas in the area can be found in Sharon at $4.66, while the most expensive is $4.76 in Altoona.
The average national gas price increased by three cents over the past week to reach $4.62 which is 45 cents more than a month ago. According to AAA, although demand for gas decreased, high prices at the pump continue to be driven by the still rising price of crude oil.
