Millions of drivers hit the road over this holiday weekend, and with the summer travel season now underway there will be an increased awareness on safe driving.
PennDOT and the state police are working with local authorities in participating in the National “Click It or Ticket” enforcement mobilization this week.
Officials say there were over 12,000 crashes in Pennsylvania last year where at least one person was not wearing a seatbelt—that resulted in 378 fatalities.
Over last Memorial Day Weekend, state police cited over a thousand drivers for not wearing a seatbelt while driving.
