Following the mass shooting at an elementary school in Texas, one state lawmaker is renewing calls for gun control legislation in Pennsylvania.
Democratic State Senator Amanda Cappelletti of Montgomery County is urging the passage of bills that are aimed at reducing gun violence.
“As people continue to die from gun suicide, mass shootings, and other firearm violence, any of these bills could have been enacted. We could have passed laws that would have gotten to the root cause of violence,” Cappelletti said. “Instead, they sit in committee.”
Cappelletti said one law that she would like to see passed is a bill to help track lost or stolen guns. It would require gun owners to report when a gun goes missing.
