The Butler Area School District will make a change in their food service provider for next school year.
At their meeting Monday night, the board approved an agreement with Aramark as food service provider pending solicitor review. Aramark will receive a flat $30,000 administrative fee as well as a management fee of nine cents per reimbursable meal sold.
Contracted general kitchen workers will become employees of Aramark which offers full comprehensive benefits packages including a 6% increase to current hourly wages. Union food service workers and cooks currently employed by the district will remain with the district.
The Nutrition Group has been the food service provider for Butler schools for the past six years.
