Some parents may be encountering problems finding baby formula at the store.
Due to a massive recall along with supply chain issues, there is a nationwide shortage of baby formulas.
However if you may be struggling to find baby formulas, local pediatrician, Doctor Richard Filiaggi, says don’t try to cut corners by diluting baby supply.
“You definitely never want to dilute your formula, because you’re trying to give a baby with a tiny little stomach as many nutrients as you can. If you dilute the formula, you’re defeating that purpose,” Filaggi said.
Dr. Filiaggi says it’s important for consumers to be reasonable when purchasing baby formula. He says to buy two to three weeks of supply and not to stock up on six months worth, which could cause harm to other parents of newborns.
