A local lawmaker recently got a closer look at plans for the expansion of Butler County Community College in neighboring Armstrong County.
United States Congressman Glenn GT Thompson stopped by downtown Ford City last week to get a closer look at the progress being made on the new BC3 @ Armstrong facility.
BC3 administrators and elected officials broke ground on construction of a new 15,000 square foot space in September at the site of the former Ford City Junior-Senior High School. Thompson expects the facility to benefit businesses in the area and he called it “an impressive school and an impressive model”.
The new single-story structure is expected to cost around $4.2 million and include classrooms, a multi-purpose room, a natural science laboratory, student meeting space, and offices for staff and faculty. Completion is expected sometime this fall.
