State police have released the latest numbers surrounding firearms background checks.
For the fourth quarter of 2021, state police conducted more than 338,000 background checks.
Of that number, over 5,300 were denied and over 1,000 were referred to local police.
State police have been conducting background checks using the PA Instant Check System since 1998.
