Those looking for a tasty chicken sandwich in Butler Township will have a new option later this year.
The Butler Township Planning Commission unanimously recommended conditional approval of plans for a Popeye’s Chicken restaurant at the intersection of New Castle Road and Alameda Park Road.
A lease of Alameda Plaza property will allow for construction of a nearly 2,400-square foot Popeye’s Chicken where the structure that formerly housed a couple of restaurants and a realtor is currently located.
The restaurant will have a drive-thru with two windows able to accommodate multiple vehicles. The Popeye’s will also have about 24 seats for eat-in customers.
The next step for this project is to receive approval from the Butler Township Commissioners later this month. Preparation of the site could begin in the early spring.
