The #9 ranked Slippery Rock University football team fell to #24 ranked CalU in PSAC West action on Saturday at CalU, losing by a final of 52-26.
A host of injuries to various SRU starters limited production for the Green and White. Leading the Rock offensively was Shamar Greene, who finished with 74 yards and one touchdown before leaving with an injury. Running back Dontez Rash also helped the offense, running for another 30 yards and one score.
Defensively, All-American Defensive End Marcus Martin lead the team with 13 tackles, two sacks, and 3.5 tackles for a loss. Linebacker Anthony Zappone finished with eight tackles and one sack, and Kevin Green finished with six tackles.
The Rock will be back in action on Saturday night, as they will host Mercyhurst at Mihalik-Thompson Stadium. Pregame coverage can be heard on The Rock Station 97.7 and online at 977rocks.com beginning at 5:30pm. Kickoff is set for 6pm.
