One man is recovering after being shot in the woods while hunting.
It happened last Friday afternoon in Limestone Township, Clarion County. Game Commission officials say 42-year-old Brandon Dunkle of Fairmont City was pushing a block of woods along with 10 other hunters.
During that time, a doe ran in front of a brush pile where Dunkle had just moved behind. Officials say 42-year-old Joseph Larson of Corsica, PA fired a shot at the deer but instead hit Dunkle in the thigh.
Other hunters made a makeshift tourniquet to place around the wound. Dunkle was flown to an area hospital where he was treated.
Game Commission officials say Dunkle was expected to be released the following day.
