Butler Area School District officials say that they are hoping to move forward with a plan to rearrange where students will be going to school next year.
With construction of a new wing at the Senior High campus currently underway, Superintendent Dr. Brian White says that the plan is to bring ninth graders up to the school next year. He added that even if the new addition isn’t complete at the beginning of the year, he expects to move forward with the plans.
The intermediate would then house sixth through eighth grade. And fifth graders would return to the elementary schools.
That would leave the Butler Middle School unoccupied, although district officials have not made public their plans for the downtown location.
